Caliphaea thailandica

Scientific name: Caliphaea thailandica Asahina, 1976
Family: Caliphaeidae
Thai name: แมลงปอเข็มตาปีกสั้นถิ่นไทย, แมลงปอเข็มภูเขาท้องเหลือง

One of two member of Caliphaeidae, Caliphaea thailandica is very beautiful damselfly. It's once an endemic species but, later, is found in Vietnam.


female
Male and female are similar. It's smaller than Vestalis. Body and abdomen are coppery green.
This species found in slow-running stream in mountain.

It's found only three provinces; Tak, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. You can see it in May-July.
