Paragomphus capricornis

Scientific name: Paragomphus capricornis (Förster, 1914)
Family: Gomphidae
Thai name: แมลงปอเสือผู้หางขอ, แมลงปอเสือปลายข้างเหลือง

Besides Ictinogomphus decoratus, Tawny Hooktail or Yellow-banded Hooktai, Paragomphus capricornis, is the common gomphid found around the stream. This small gomphid is often land on the sand.


female

Male is black striped with orange. Anal appendages is like a hook. Greenish blue eyes. Female is similar to the male but stouter.

You can see this gomphid all the year in the South and in March - October in elsewhere.
