Macromidia genialis

Scientific name: Macromidia genialis Laidlaw, 1923

Thai name: แมลงปอมาโครรัฐฉาน

Macromidia genialis is a small corduliid flying near the shaded stream surface.  It's like those of Idionyx in that it verticvally rests on twig in evening. Dr. Asahina place thai specimen to subspecies "M. g. shanensis".

Male is metallic green body with yellow markings as in photo. There is a yellow middorsal stripe on S2-5 and a spear-like spot on S-6. Female is similar to that of the male.

Ypu can find this species in North, Central and East Thailand in April-November.
