Kanchanaburi is a good place to see odonates. I found Prodasineura laidlawii in the Erawan waterfall, one of the most popular waterfall in the province. Although there is crowded everyday, this beautiful damselfly lives like there is no any human around. The species outnumber other odonates in the waterfall.
Male is black with blue stripes. The dorsum of abdominal segment 9-10 and anal appendages are blue. Typically, there is no any marking on lateral side of abdominal segment 8 but some (even within the same population) display the marking varied in size and shape.
male with/without markings on S-8.
Female is similar to the male but paler. On middorsum of segment 9 and 10 there is a blue streak. The anal appendages is also blue.

This damselfly is recorded in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysia. In Thailand, I only found it in the western and southern part all the year.
